El Scorchio at Tally’Ho !!

By Abdul.Tayyab.

It was a scorching hot day at the Tally Ho police ground, too much of a "warm welcome" if i say so myself. Everyone was on their best behaviour as we were playing with the police team!

We could not afford any public order situations and play in the spirtit of the game!

Like last week, we won the toss and decided to bat first and tested our chances on the amazing green pitch. Asam and Haider opened and started off well with what looked like a perfect partnership however Asam eventually got out to am unplayable deliver that jagged bavk into the pad for an LBW decision...
The skipper took the long walk back to the hut!

A steady score was beginning to be made by Haider.
Things were settling down, however just before the drinks break, haider managed get a unlucky bottom edge, to be caught in slips. Top catch!
Abdul Hanan also played brilliant shots while also guiding the batsmen who batted with him however he also got out the same as Haider.
The pitch was playing tricks...nothing like what we are use to at CCC Home ground..
Next was Siraaj, an amazing start with 2 beautiful sixes and i believe the only sixes of the whole game. He became the next victim on this demon pitch where the ball pitched outside leg and stayed low to trap him infront of the stumps so therefore the finger went up and Siraaj went off....
Another Lbw..
Trigger would have to be Umpiring on this pitch.. as he would so be in his element! But he was busy padding up!

Eesa and Sheregha stayed in and were looking determined to show grit and apply pressure on the worn out police team and they did a good job. Lastly was the best number 11 batsman, coleshill finest however he was unfortunate to be bowled 1st ball we believe it was the googly that confused him.

After that none of the batsmen really settled and the score was only a small 123. The whole team got bowled out before the overs finished.

Lunch was next and the hospitality was amazing, they served nutritious food to everyone and the bartenders and general staff were very kind and helpful so big thanks to the staff of Tally Ho.

The bowling started off well with Ammo opening with the new ball. Sheregha also opened with him and managed to hold the score to a stable position. Due to the heat, the Skipper made a wise decision not to let the bowlers stay on consistently as it would reduce their efficiency in the game.

Haider came in next to bowl and managed to bowl one good over however, during the beginning of his second over he got injured in his bowling arm and was subbed off for eesa. A key bowler was lost and definitely affected the weight of the game and the balance fell further into the hands of the police team. A quick decisive decision by the Skipper meant that he took over the remaining over and managed to get an astonishing wicket with the help of Siraaj who caught an outstanding high catch. The skip took another wicket in his 3rd over. Skipper Asam ended up with 2 wickets.. he might now be a bowling all rounder.

Mohsin and Siraaj came in next and they both bowled amazingly and managed to take key wickets however due the fiery heat, the players were losing motivation and the energy on the pitch fell to low standards which meant the fielding collapsed. Even Ammos speeches couldn't save us now.

Abdul bowled 2 overs giving only 9 runs and managed to hinder the opposition by fielding some hard shots towards him. He also umpired for 15 overs in the sun in 27°C.

Eesa had the last over and by this point the team was out of energy and it seemed like everyone just wanted to leave so the game ended there. It was a good game and both teams had a good time as well some key points that we need to improve on; apart from that the game was fun and enjoyable. A big thanks to the scorers for scoring on behalf of both teams. Good game lads.
